The Marshall Electrocatalysis and Electrochemical Engineering Research Group

The most advanced electrochemistry laboratory in New Zealand
About Us

The Marshall Electrocatalysis and Electrochemical Engineering Research Group, lead by Professor Aaron Marshall, is based at the University of Canterbury in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our research focuses on electrocatalysis and electrochemical engineering for applications in green energy and metals production processes. Specifically the design and development of electrocatalytic materials for the electrochemical conversion carbon dioxide to value added chemical's, water electrolysis for hydrogen and oxygen evolution and redox flow batteries. We also apply fundamental electrochemical principles to model the kinetics of electrochemical processes and the production of metals via ultra-high temperature molten oxide electrolysis. Click here to learn about our group, research and laboratory.
